Orange and salmon Mussaenda Marmalade sepals surround a small golden yellow flower

Mussaenda 'Marmalade'

Of cultivated hybrid origin in India, this tender perennial shrub was developed from Mussaenda philippica ā€˜DoƱa Luz’ and Mussaenda luteola. Its upright, branching stems can reach about eight feet tall. The leaves feel soft and velvety, with hairs on both surfaces. Small yellow flowers have yellow-orange centres and are surrounded by enlarged sepals that deepen from yellow to orange with age and exposure to full sun. It can be propagated by tip cuttings or air layering. Photographed in Florida.
