Morus nigra
Native to western and southwestern Iran, it is a deciduous tree with a broad spreading crown. Mature trees commonly reach about twenty-six to forty feet tall. Inconspicuous greenish flowers are followed by fleshy multiple fruits composed of many closely packed units. The berries deepen from reddish shades to dark purplish-black as they mature and have long been grown as an edible fruit. Photographed in Colombia.
