Refurbished church
Mompox, Colombia

Santa Cruz de Mompox, is a historic town in the Bolívar Department of northern Colombia situated on an island in the Magdalena River. Mompox was founded in 1537, by Spanish conquistadors. Its historic center has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is famous for its filigree work, a delicate form of jewelry making that involves twisting threads of gold or silver into intricate patterns. This is one of the hottest places I have visited in Colombia. Drinking liquids is not sufficient you have to drink very cold liquids.
