Miconia theizans
Native to Costa Rica and extending through tropical South America. This species thrives in high-altitude dense forests. It exhibits a shrubby to small tree habit, reaching heights up to 16 feet. The plant produces small, white flowers arranged in terminal panicles, each flower comprising five petals and ten stamens, which are characteristic of its genus. These flowers are nectar-producing and emit a fragrance. The fruit is a small, globose berry. Photographed in the Eastern Andes of Colombia.
