Medinilla crassinervia
Native from Sulawesi to New Guinea, this woody climber grows in wet forest habitats. Its flowers occur in short clusters on stems below the leaves rather than in large terminal panicles. The pale pink blossoms have prominent curved stamens. It grows in old forest, including lowland forests on Morotai, Indonesia. Photographed in Florida.
