San Sebastián de Mariquita is in the Tolima Department of central Colombia in the Magdalena River Valley, about 93 miles northwest of Bogotá. Agriculture is the primary economic activity. There is a large Mangosteen farm parallel to the highway that at times you can visit and buy the fruit at a good price.
