Lucuma dominigensis

Lucuma dominigensis is an evergreen tree native to the Caribbean, including Hispaniola, Cuba, and the Bahamas. Its leathery leaves form a dense crown, and small flowers are followed by rounded fruits. Young growth can display coppery to reddish tones before the leaves mature to green. The species grows in tropical woodland and other warm, seasonally dry habitats. Photographed in Florida.
