Lucuma campechiana

Lucuma campechiana is a tropical fruit tree native from Mexico through Central America. Narrow glossy leaves cluster near branch tips, and small pale flowers develop into yellow to orange fruits with sweet, dense flesh. The fruit is commonly known as canistel. The tree grows primarily in warm, humid to seasonally dry climates. Research-grade observations document it in Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
