Lisianthius seemannii
Native from Costa Rica to northwestern Colombia, this herb or small shrub grows in wet tropical landscapes, along road banks, pasture edges, and forest margins. It bears oval leaves and crowded, repeatedly branching flower clusters. The blossoms have long, narrow, cream-yellow tubes and spreading lobes that may appear white at their tips. Flowering plants range from less than three feet to about seven feet tall, depending on the site. Photographed in Panama.
