Jacquemontia nodiflora has small white flowers clustered at the leaf nodes beside broad softly hairy green leaves

Jacquemontia nodiflora (Clustervine)

Native from Mexico into tropical America, this vine grows in dry bushland and other seasonally dry vegetation. Its wiry, twining stems become somewhat woody and are hairy when young. Small, oval leaves have shallow heart-shaped bases and paler, hairy undersides. Nearly stalkless flower clusters form close to the leaf nodes. The small corollas are white, sometimes with dull lilac bands, and have a shallow funnel-shaped outline. Rounded, hairy sepals surround their bases. The species occurs mainly in lowland habitats. Photographed in Colombia.
