Ismene narcissiflora cluster with white recurving flowers and long projecting stamens
Ismene narcissiflora

Ismene narcissiflora is a bulb-forming perennial native to south-central Peru, where it grows in seasonally dry tropical habitats. Its flowers arise together on a leafless stalk and have a prominent central cup surrounded by narrow, recurving white segments. The species becomes dormant during dry periods and resumes growth from its underground bulb when moisture returns. Photographed in Colombia.
