Isertia laevis (White Flowered Isertia)
Native from Central America into tropical South America, this shrub or tree grows in very moist and cloud forests, including disturbed and secondary woodland. Large opposite leaves have entire margins, pointed tips, and notably whitish undersides. Terminal clusters carry fragrant white tubular flowers with several narrow spreading lobes and hairs around the throat. Small, fleshy berries change from green to dark colors as they mature. The bark is gray and young branchlets may be slightly square in cross-section. Photographed in Colombia.
