Ipomoea tiliacea has a broad pale lavender funnel-shaped flower with a dark purple throat and darker radiating veins

Ipomoea tiliacea (Lindenleaf Morning Glory)

Native to tropical America, this perennial vine has stems that become woody below while remaining herbaceous toward their tips. The smooth, stalked leaves are usually ovate and heart-shaped at the base, with pointed tips. Axillary clusters carry pink to lilac funnel-shaped flowers with a darker throat. Their stamens remain within the corolla. Rounded, slightly flattened capsules split into four valves to release dark seeds. The plant produces white milky sap and grows in thickets and other vegetation in moist tropical environments. Photographed in Colombia.
