Ipomoea cordatotriloba (Tievine)
Native from the southeastern United States into northeastern Mexico, this slender annual vine climbs by twining or trails across nearby vegetation. Its stalked leaves are broadly triangular to heart-shaped and may have three shallow lobes. Axillary flower clusters usually carry several blossoms on a shared stalk. Pink to pale lavender funnel-shaped corollas have a dark center, while pointed sepals often bear stiff marginal hairs. Rounded, slightly hairy capsules contain brown seeds. It grows in open and disturbed habitats and has naturalized on lowland open ground in northern and central Taiwan. Photographed in Peru.
