Native to East Africa, this plant, commonly known as Busy Lizzy is a popular choice among garden enthusiasts especially in the U.S. often grown as an annual in temperate zones. The habit of this plant is quite appealing; it grows in a spreading mound, ranging from 0.5 to 2 feet in both height and spread, providing a bushy appearance with succulent stems​​. Busy Lizzy is celebrated for its non-stop blooming from late spring until the first frost, showcasing a spectrum of colors including pink, rose, red, lilac, purple, orange, white, and bicolor varieties.
