Impatiens sodenii

Native to the tropical highlands of Kenya and Tanzania, the plant, known as Poor Man's Rhododendron. It is an ornamental garden shrub and flowers year round in the Andes. An accolade from the Royal Horticultural Society, the Award of Garden Merit, highlights its ornamental appeal. Several cultivars have been bred. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
