A pair of red Hibiscus phoeniceus flowers glowing in the sunlight, each with bold rounded petals and a spray of orange-yellow stamens
Hibiscus phoeniceus

This species is native to Colombia and has a shrubby habit. It produces solitary flowers with five rounded petals that are slightly asymmetrical and separated, forming a shallow cup. The petals are bright magenta to scarlet, with a short floral tube and conspicuous stamens and style, and the staminal column bears orange anthers and protrudes outward in a slightly curved form. The style branches into five rounded stigmas. Photographed in Atlantico, Colombia.
