Hemerocallis fulva (Day Lily)
Native to China North-Central, China South-Central, China Southeast, Japan, Korea, Nansei-shoto, and Taiwan, this is an herbaceous plant in the Asphodelaceae family. It has naturalized in many areas and is a parent of many hybrids. The roots have a history of medicinal use and are also consumed as food. The tepals are likened to lettuce in taste, and can be a colorful addition to salads​. where it is very common. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
