Hatiora salicornoides
Native to eastern and southern Brazil, this much-branched cactus grows on trees or rocks in Atlantic and seasonal forests. Its jointed stems have short, swollen segments that resemble small bottles, giving rise to the common name bottle cactus. The branches begin upright and become spreading or pendent with age. Yellow to orange flowers appear at the segment tips, followed by small whitish to pinkish fruits. It can be propagated from seed or cuttings. Photographed in Colombia.
