Guzmania calamifolia var rosacea has a branching red stalk bearing vivid pink bracts and small white flowers above narrow green leaves

Guzmania calamifolia var. rosacea

Native to Panama, this color variety of a forest bromeliad grows as an epiphytic herb. Narrow, linear leaves spread from a basal rosette around a slender upright flowering stalk. The loose, branching inflorescence carries several compact spikes, with conspicuous rosy bracts surrounding the small flowers. The plant retains the slender, branched flowering structure characteristic of the species. Photographed in Florida.
