Guazuma ulmifolia

Native to Argentina Northeast, Belize, Bolivia, northeastern Brazil, northern Brazil, and southeastern Brazil and nearby regions, this is a shrub in the Malvaceae family. It is often found in seasonally dry tropical habitats. It’s recognized for its environmental and social utility, including its use as animal food, medicine, invertebrate food, and for fuel and food purposes​​. Its foliage serves as a source of fodder for livestock. The leaves and fruits of this tree are fed to cattle, primarily during the dry season. Photographed in the department of Atlantico, Colombia.
