Guarianthe hennisiana
Guarianthe hennisiana is an epiphytic orchid native to Central America. The plant produces showy clusters of lavender to violet flowers, each with broad petals and sepals surrounding a conspicuous trumpet-shaped lip marked with a darker purple throat. The species is closely allied to other members of the Guarianthe genus, a group of orchids that were separated taxonomically from Cattleya in the early 2000s. Photograped in Panama.
