Graffenrieda cucullata

Native to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá, and Peru, it is a shrub in the Melastomataceae family. Documented elevations extend from about 160 to 6,250 feet. It develops branching woody stems and dense foliage, with white flowers arranged singly or in inflorescences. Photographed in Colombia.
