Drymonia (species unidentified)

Native from southern Mexico through tropical America, Drymonia includes herbs, shrubs, climbers, and plants that grow on trees. The genus is especially diverse in the mountain rainforests of northern South America. Its conspicuous flowers vary greatly in shape and colour, and some species have persistent, colourful bracts. Fleshy fruits are another characteristic of the group. The species represented here has not been identified. Photographed in Colombia.
