Its daisy-like flower heads have red, yellow or red-and-yellow outer florets surrounding a central disk. It flowers over a long season and reseeds to produce new plants in following years. Often found in sandy areas, roadsides and field margins, it is grown in flower borders, containers and wildflower meadows. The species is also included in seed mixtures for roadside revegetation and reclamation projects. Photographed in Florida.
