Fuchsia hartwegii
Native to Colombia, it is an Andean shrub found in moist mountain habitats. Its hanging flowers have long tubes, spreading sepals and projecting stamens, with colors ranging from orange-red to deeper red. The stamens have red filaments and pale anthers. Some Colombian populations contain both plants with female flowers and plants whose flowers have male and female reproductive organs, a reproductive pattern called gynodioecy. It has been recorded across several Andean departments, including Cauca, Antioquia, Huila and Tolima. Photographed in the department of Cauca, Colombia.
