Evolvulus hybrid

A cultivated hybrid in the morning-glory family, this plant belongs to a genus found mainly in tropical and subtropical America. Evolvulus plants have non-twining stems rather than the climbing habit of many related morning glories. Their flowers have fused petals forming an open, rounded or funnel-shaped corolla. Five stamens surround an ovary with two styles, each ending in slender stigmas. Photographed in Florida.
