Euphorbia ariensis
Native to Mexico, this herb grows in conifer and oak forests as well as tropical deciduous forest. Its tiny flowers gather in cup-like structures called cyathia, each containing a female flower surrounded by male flowers. Petal-like appendages on the glands make these compact clusters resemble individual flowers. The milky sap can irritate skin and eyes, and the plant is harmful if eaten. Photographed in Florida.
