Erythrina amazonica (Amazon Coral Tree)
Native to tropical South America, this tree grows in wet tropical habitats and produces conspicuous clusters of long, tubular flowers on erect, leafless branches. The flowers range from pink to crimson and are pollinated by hummingbirds. In the Peruvian Amazon, its bark and roots are used in traditional medicine. Photographed in Ecuador.
