Native to India, this small upright shrub grows in seasonally dry tropical regions. Its green leaves have a rough surface and an elliptical shape, with pointed tips. Bluish-violet flowers have a narrow trumpet-like tube opening into broad, spreading lobes. The plant is also maintained in tropical ornamental collections for its flowers and foliage.
