Encyclia Thomas Fennell 'Hamlyn'

This cultivated orchid hybrid was developed from Encyclia Orchid Jungle and Encyclia plicata. Its ancestry also includes Encyclia alata and Encyclia phoenicea through Orchid Jungle. Hamlyn is a named selection within that cross. Like other Encyclia orchids, it develops swollen pseudobulbs with leathery leaves and branching flower stems that display numerous blooms above the foliage. Photographed in Florida.
