Encyclia Lee Ward
This cultivated orchid hybrid combines Encyclia adenocaula and Encyclia tampensis. Encyclia plants typically form clumps of swollen pseudobulbs, each supporting a small number of leathery leaves. Flowering stems arise from the tops of mature growths and branch into open sprays. The genus is characterized by a conspicuous, three-part lip on each flower. Photographed in Florida.
