Two yellow orangish Dolichandra unguis-cati flowers with new purple leaves
Dolichandra unguis-cati (Cat’s Claw Creeper)

A robust climbing plant originally from the tropical regions of Central and South America. It has since spread to various parts of the world, establishing itself in areas like the southeastern United States, Australia, and South Africa. Classified as invasive in certain regions, including Florida and Australia. The Cat’s Claw Creeper is recognized for its striking tubular yellow flowers, which bloom prolifically in the spring and summer months. Its claw-like tendrils enable it to cling tightly to surfaces, facilitating its rapid spread. Photographed in the department of Atlantico, Colombia.
