Diplostephium ericoides
This species is native to the high-altitude pƔramo ecosystems of the northern Andes. This species thrives in open, windswept grasslands and shrubby areas, where it contributes to the resilience of pƔramo vegetation under extreme conditions of cold, strong ultraviolet radiation, and high humidity. The plant is a shrub that produces daisy-like composite flowers composed of white ray florets and a dense yellow central disc. Photographed in Ecuador.
