Dioclea macrantha
Native to tropical regions of Central and South America, Dioclea macrantha is a robust, climbing vine commonly found in forested areas where it twines around trees or sprawls across the ground. This perennial plant produces flowers that are typically purplish or deep violet. Each flower exhibits a distinctive structure, with prominent petals and a curved shape that facilitates pollination by bees and other insects. Photographed in Nariño, Colombia.
