Dichorisandra penduliflora
Dichorisandra penduliflora is native to Brazil, where it thrives in tropical and subtropical forests. This perennial species belongs to a group often called "blue gingers" due to their resemblance to true gingers, though they are unrelated. It is notable for producing pendant inflorescences that carry striking violet-blue flowers, each with three broad, rounded petals and dark stamens at the center. The blooms are arranged along arching stems, with flowers opening sequentially to provide a prolonged flowering period. Photographed in Florida.
