Delosperma 'Jewel of Desert Garnet'

This compact, spreading evergreen succulent is a garden selection with a long flowering period. Its fleshy leaves grow in opposite pairs and have a triangular cross-section, with fine glandular hairs on their surfaces. The upright or outward-facing flowers have red-orange petals with pink centers and yellow anthers. Each flower lasts a few days and has a faint, sweet fragrance. Softwood cuttings preserve its characteristic growth and flower colors. Photographed in Florida.
