Delonix regia (Royal Poinciana)
A tree native to Madagascar, and now cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. One of the most beautiful trees in the world renowned for its flamboyant display of bright red or orange flowers and rarer a less flamboyant yellow during the summer months. The royal poinciana reaches heights ranging from 20 to 40 feet, showcasing a wide, umbrella-like canopy. Photographed in Colombia.
