The garden dahlia, is native to Mexico and Central America,  It has become a popular ornamental plant around the world. This species is known for its intricate flowers, which come in a wide array of colors. It has been widely cultivated, resulting in numerous cultivars and hybrids. It is the national flower of Mexico.
