Cyrtochilum exasperatum
Cyrtochilum exasperatum is an orchid native to the cloud forests of the Andes in Colombia and Ecuador. It is an epiphytic species, typically attaching itself to tree trunks and branches in humid, shaded forest environments. The plant produces long inflorescences with strikingly patterned flowers that display a combination of rich brown and golden yellow, often with a sculpted and irregular appearance. Each flower is relatively small but arranged along the stem in a way that highlights their ornate shape. Photographed in Colombia.
