Cynara cardunculus (Cardoon)

Native to Albania, Algeria, Baleares, Canary Is., France, and Italy and nearby regions, this is an herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family. Cultivated in cooler regions of Colombia. Photographed in the department of ‎Cundinamarca, Colombia.
