Cynanchum montevidense
Native from Panama through much of South America and also to Jamaica, it is a climbing subshrub found in seasonally dry tropical regions and in riverside or seasonally flooded thickets. Its flowers occur in stalked clusters. The corolla can be white, pale yellow or purple, with purple lines along the lobes. The lobe margins bend backward, and a lobed corona surrounds the central reproductive structure. Fruits are smooth, spindle-shaped pods called follicles. The pale brown seeds have a tuft of white to yellowish hairs at one end. Photographed in the department of Atlántico, Colombia.
