Cymbidium chloranthum

Native to western Malesia and Palawan in the Philippines, it is an evergreen orchid that grows on trees in humid tropical forests. It forms clumps with pseudobulbs and leathery, narrowly oval leaves. Its flower stems bear five to thirty flowers, with green to yellow-green sepals and petals and a yellowish lip marked with dark red spots near the base. The rounded tips of the spreading flower segments and the contrasting spotted lip distinguish its blooms. Photographed in Florida.
