Cryptostegia grandiflora (Rubber Vine)
Originates from Madagascar but has since spread to various tropical regions around the world. This woody perennial plant is notable for its vigorous growth and climbing habit, often reaching substantial heights as it wraps itself around nearby structures or vegetation. The Rubber Vine produces attractive flowers, predominantly in shades of purple and pink. All parts of the plant are highly toxic if ingested, and it has a milky sap that can be an irritant. In regions such as Australia, it has become an invasive species. Photographed in northern Colombia near the coast.
