A large shrub native to southwestern China. It has since been introduced to various parts of the world for its ornamental qualities.  The shrub produces small, white flowers during the spring, which are succeeded by red berries poisonous to humans in the fall. Cotoneaster pannosus is listed as invasive in some regions. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
