Native to central Mexico, Mexico Gulf, northeastern Mexico, northwestern Mexico, and southwestern Mexico, this is an herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family. The Mexican aster has naturalized in various regions worldwide following its cultivation as an ornamental plant. It typically exhibits a bushy habit, growing up to 3-6 feet tall with an equal spread, showcasing its ability to create a significant visual impact in the landscape. The plant is annual, completing its life cycle in one growing season, yet it’s proficient at self-seeding, which allows it to establish a long-term presence in suitable environments.
