Cleome decipiens

Cleome decipiens is a tropical shrub native to Colombia. Broad compound leaves surround dense terminal flower clusters, where vivid orange-red petals spread around numerous long stamens. Rounded green buds develop above the open flowers. The species belongs to a group formerly placed in Podandrogyne and occurs in wet tropical vegetation. Research-grade observations under its exact taxonomic synonym document it in Colombia. Photographed in Colombia.
