Centrosema molle
Originating from tropical regions of Central and South America, Centrosema molle is a perennial vine that belongs to the legume family. It thrives in areas of lowland tropical forests, typically along roadsides, forest edges, and within disturbed areas where sunlight can penetrate. The vine is known for its ability to climb, using tendrils to latch onto surrounding vegetation. Like other members of the Centrosema genus, it is capable of nitrogen fixation, improving soil quality in its habitat. Photographed in Colombia.
