Centropogon isabellinus
Endemic to Peru, this shrub in the bellflower family grows in humid Andean mountain forests. It is recorded in the Cusco region at about 11,800 feet. Its tubular flowers provide nectar for birds. In the elfin forests of Unchog, HuƔnuco, Peru, both hummingbirds and flowerpiercers have been recorded visiting its flowers. Flowering there occurs over limited periods rather than continuously throughout the year. Like other members of its genus, it produces fleshy berries containing numerous small seeds.
