
Cattleya trianae (Christmas Orchid)
Originating from Colombia, the enchanting orchid known as Flor de Mayo or Christmas Orchid thrives on tree branches as an epiphyte, showcasing purple flowers that emerge from its pseudobulbs. Its blooming season in winter brings forth a spectacle of flowers, each spreading up to 8 inches wide, exuding a sweet aroma. The national flower of Colombia.
